PRIVATE RESIDENCE - SOMERSET

We love everything about this house. Originally the home of a wine merchant, it's a house built for fun. This kitchen is part of their exterior barn, where the owners host huge dinner parties, as well as outdoor cinema nights. A house of joy.

This kitchen doesn’t have a huge amount of natural light, so we sourced a stunning antique mirror to help bounce the light around, along with some clever under shelf recessed lights to bring the kitchen to life.

The solid oak work surface, with hand-carved drainage grooves, sits alongside the original and untreated wall, which gives depth and character to the space. All is complemented by bespoke hand-painted cabinets in rich saturated fir green and finished with solid brass hand-turned hardware.

We love this space, it felt like a hallway before but Heartwood has brought it to life in so many ways. It's a perfect space for entertaining, I get to cook amongst our guests and often the kitchen is the topic of conversation!
